Scheduled
On Thursday April 22nd from 2 p.m. to 10 pm., NESE (Northeast Storage Exchange) will be undergoing planned maintenance. During this window, the Ceph storage will be unavailable. This maintenance only affects NESE storage access. No other Research Computing systems or resources are affected by this maintenance. What work is being done? * Installing new NESE Core Cisco N9K * Replacing a number of the QSFP28 100Gb links from ToR to Core * Updating firmware on all switches * Failover testing of Arista BGP
Why? * The Arista switch was serving as NESE Core + BGP peering, and we are almost out of ports * New design provides 12 more BGP peering port-parts * New design can support 16 more ToR switches. * This increases our internal east-west bandwidth from 200Gbps to 400 Gbps
